Litenga Holding Limited (LHL) is an Agribusiness Social Enterprise and emerging leader in strengthening rural farmers livelihoods in Tanzania; LHL is focusing largely on value chain development and development of profitable and sustainable market linkages for agriculture products as a social economic effort to enhance livelihood options for rural areas by building agri enterprises and support systems that will empower small holder farmers to negotiate better terms of trade for their farm
commodities.
Litenga Holding operations are defined by three thematic areas, which are related to the concept of Agriculture, Rural Development and Innovation in enhancing the livelihoods options of rural population by creating long-term business relationship and profitable agri enterprises along the value chain actors .
Litenga Farmers Call Center (LIFARCC) has been established as an innovation for Market linkages, extension services and farmer advisory platform to provide timely and relevant information and advisory services to facilitate business decision along the specific agricultural value chains actors. Great importance and consideration and focus will be given to cereal related Value chains.
LIFARCC operated under Litenga Holding Limited with specific objectives to;
-Establish forward and backward Market Led linkages both forward(Farmers to buyer and vice-versa):
connecting farming groups with buyers contrary to providing farmers with commodity prices of the market place only.
-Establish a profiled buyer database for an increased access to producer's information.
-To Improve and' operatlonallze producers database and access to prime buyers, Litenga Holding Limited.
-To improve extension services where by farmers through a phone call can access or linked to extension officer's countrywide.
-As an early warning to the outbreak of crop pests and diseases whereby a farmer can report immediately through a phone call and the information be relayed to the properauthorities/parties for action.
