ACCOUNTANT
The job incumbent is responsible for providing accurate input to the books and records in the area of responsibility in compliance with IAS and ensure administrative procedures are adhered to in area of operation. Specifically;
? Ensure consistent application of all relevant policies and procedures
? Accurate booking of receivables in Tanzania
Key Responsibilities
? Participate in internal and external audit, supervising and responding to audit queries during statutory and revenues authority tax audits to final or conclusion stage. Build up and maintain clear communication and co-operation with all internal and external auditors
? Provide tax related support ensuring East Africa Herald is compliant with statutory requirements
? Collection of revenue from our customers posting in to the accounting software.
? Ensure adherence to internal controls in all processes.
? Participate in stock take.
? Updating and advising on the changes of Tanzania business environment such as new Tax laws/regulation or amendments, political and others that may affect East Africa Herald's operation in the country.
? Review fixed assets register and accounting (acquisition, sales, depreciation) and performs regular inventories.
? Maintain petty cash
? Co-operate in the local process for yearly and periodical financial planning.
? Provide needed information (routine financial reporting)
? Work in compliance with statutory requirements in the area of responsibility
? Co-operate with internal & external auditors, suppliers and customers
Qualifications and skills
? University degree in Finance or Accounting (Diploma with Relevant Experience Accepted)
? Min.1 year of experience in accounting
? Advanced PC skills, (Experience with QuickBooks is an Advantage)
? Country specific and fluent English language skills
