ROLE PURPOSE
To play a key role in preparation of business plans, and coordination of marketing and sales strategies to ensure achievement of strategic objectives. This role is responsible for driving business acquisition in commercial lines to ensure the group business revenue targets for the division are achieved.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE SET
• Degree in Sales & Marketing
• In-depth knowledge of insurance and the industry
• MBA qualification is desirable • 5 years’ experience in marketing of insurance products managing retail operations, 3 of which should be in the marketing of general business insurance at management level.
• In depth understand of local Insurance laws, practices and regulatory requirements in Tanzania
• Good communication and presentation skills at a senior level
• Strategic planning, budgeting and management experience
PERSPECTIVE OUTPUTS
Strategy Development and implementation • Generate marketing strategies, set marketing objectives and carry out market research within and outside the Company
• Develop and implement strategies for the promotion of general business products
• Providing market intelligence on customer needs and competitor actions
• Prepare annual production targets in in pursuit of organisational objectives

Finance • Drive business acquisition to achieve set premium income targets.

• On an ongoing basis, looks for possible new business potential in traditional and non-traditional areas
Internal Process • Handle business enquiries and coordinate new business quotation processes, and follows up quotations with intermediaries and clients
• Ascertains the technical soundness of insurance policy documents; and ensures they remain sufficiently presentable, appealing and comprehensive.
• Manager overall production of all branches
• Periodically review existing products and proposes changes with a view to enhancing their quality
• Formulates plans for launching relevant insurance products
Monitoring and Reporting • Prepare periodical business performance appraisals and reports
• Maintain and regularly update business progress reports.
• Analysis of performance against annual targets and reporting on variances.
• Analysis on period performance against prior period performance.
