CUSTOMS DECLARATION OFFICER
Manchinchi Marine movers (T) Limited is registered Tanzania Customs Agency, providing Freight Forwarding and services to Tanzania clientele and to East and Central Africa. We offer Clearing and Forwarding services on goods imported to Tanzania through Ocean, Air and Land. We also clear goods which are in transit to neighbouring countries such as Zambia, Congo (DRC), Malawi, Rwanda, and Burundi.
The Company is seeking to recruit CUSTOMS DECLARATION OFFICERS AND OPERATION OFFICERS. The position holder will be required to work closely with other staffs to provide leadership and ensure laid procedures are well executed to promote a culture of high performance within the organization.
1. CUSTOMS DECLARATION OFFICER
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Ensure that all consignments are cleared through Tanzania Revenue Authority Tancis System and the same are properly recorded for future reference. Ensure that all documents requested by authorities are submitted promptly to ensure speedy clearance of goods and Consignments Orders are correctly recorded in the customs and company's systems.
b. Ensure that all shipping documents related to arrival of materials are made available at the time required and Ensure that cargos are cleared in a speedy and timely manner to meet the clients' expectations and company's standards
c. Handle good working relationship with customs authorities and other stakeholders in the industry.
d. Managing customs documentation, license availability processes, as well as managing data and clearance documentation.
e. Handle the total logistics chain of export and import activities for the company's clientele.
f. Provide regular and accurate daily reports to the Management on all cleared cargo and status of outstanding customs bonds and all other consignments.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
a. Must have a Minimum of Diploma in Customs and Tax Management or East African Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding Practising Certificate (CFFPC) from recognised Institution with a Minimum of 3 years experience in the same capacity
b. Highly conversant with Tanzania Customs Integrated System(TANCIS)
c. Ability to maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders in the field and Must have high technical skills in customs related matters and logistics
d. Good interpersonal relations, communication skills and Possess a high degree of integrity, honesty and confidentiality.
e. Flexible in work habits and schedules, ready to work for longer hours when required.
f. Must have knowledge of government procedures relating to imports & exports knowledge of customs laws pertaining to Tanzania as well as East and Central African countries.
g. Must have a Minimum of Certificate in Computer Applications.
