Consultancy to the International Standards certification (ISO) was incorporated in 2008 and since then MTL has established itself as a most promising consultancy organization in Tanzania. MTL Tanzania Limited specializes in the entire range of Business Management Systems according to the International standards.
2.0 In this document:
Client: Business owner (Manufacturing industry, Processing, Transport agent, Government or NGOs etc who needs solution to any identified problem or non-conformity in his business operations or who has failed to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Consultant: MTL Limited whose team of experts is available to provide solutions to the challenges faced by clients.
Freelancer: An independent, self-employed person or person who identifies client needs & reports to MTL Limited for consultancy services to solve clients problem.
3.0 The Work Environment
All freelance jobs are very much a matter of relationships with client businesses. This job involves:
• Analysis of client operation needs, including identifying their problems and challenges and suggesting solutions to these problems. Proposed solutions will raise projects by which client has to pay for the services offered by Consultant.
• Analysis of client markets, business processes, staff affairs including competences, and product distribution, business risks and mediate response to the risks.
• Monitoring, Measurement, Analysis and improvement etc. Most of clients do not have enough knowledge on these items. So the free lancer have to meet different clients and propose solutions to such challenges and advice.
• Internal audit, inspections, tests, calibrations, Maintenance schedules etc. including quality control etc.
• Analysis of client's market profile and suggesting potential markets
• Targeted and general market research
• Product branding issues
• Product launches
• Promotions
• Advisory role in relation to client business ventures
The free lancer has now to conduct the consultant (MTL) to advise and explain situations across the entire spectrum of operations. The consultant employs the individual experts on a needs basis, through his or her own contract funding.
4.0 Description of the Vacancy.
MTL Tanzania Ltd is looking for eight (8) free lancers preferably from science background. They should be Tanzanians from the following regions/zones:
Dar es Salaam – 3
Coast region - 1
Morogoro - 1
Lake zone: Mwanza, Mara, Geita etc. – 3
Arusha & Kilimanjaro – 1
Iringa, Mbeya & Ruvuma – 1
Lindi & Mtwara – 1
Tanga – 1.
5.0 Prequalification:
Apart from the training required for them to do the expected job, MTL Limited is looking for individuals with the following pre-qualifications:
• Bachalor degree and above from science background will be given first priority. Candidates from Chemical Engineering, Food & Beverage processing, Irrigation Engineering, Construction industry, Transport & Logistics, IT, Iron & Steel manufacture, Mining Sector, Energy Management, Environmental Sciences, Education Sector, Health Sector, Banking,
o Candidates with knowledge of CBOs e.g. SACCOS, VICOBA. NGOs
o People with experience from local government etc. will also be considered.
• Candidates are required to have strong communication skills both English & Kiswahili. Ability to hold strong discussions with Senior Managers and business owners at different occasions on different matters related to their business.
• Good understanding of Process approach and System approach in production and service provision.
• Good research methods and report writing.
• Must be flexible
• Effective facilitator
• Must be knowledgeable about assessment and evaluation
• Must have knowledge about diverse communities in Tanzania and worldwide.
• Must be organized-Timely-Efficient- Patient
• Experienced and effective meeting facilitator
• Must have Strong people skills.
6.0 Hygiene & Dressing Code
• The candidate is expected to dress in business attire on all visits to clients premises this includes long sleeve shirt with collar (Tie for men depends on type of meeting but should be worn and can be removed when appropriate). Smart black leather shoes (and black socks for men). Black smart suit trousers (Jacket is optional but should coordinate with trousers).
• Personal hygiene will include deodorant/anti perspiration spray every day; hair cut short and clean breath, hands and face.
