1. DENTAL THERAPIST NUMBER OF POSITION 1
Report to Assistant Dental Officer
Job description:
Obtain a detailed dental history from patients and evaluate their medical history , carry out a clinical examination within staff competence, complete periodontal examination and charting and use indices to screen and monitor periodontal disease , diagnose and treatment plan within staff competence, prescribe radiographs, take, process and interpret various film views used in general dental practice, plan the delivery of care for patients, give appropriate patient advice, provide preventive oral care to patients and liaise with dentists over the treatment of caries, periodontal disease and tooth wear, undertake supragingival and subgingival scaling and root surface debridement using manual and powered instrument, use appropriate anti-microbial therapy to manage plaque related diseases, adjust restored surfaces in relation to periodontal treatment, apply topical treatments and fissure sealants and give infiltration and inferior dental block analgesia
Additional skills which dental therapists could develop include: carrying out tooth whitening to the prescription of a dentist, administering inhalation sedation and removing sutures after the wound has been checked by a dentist.
Required Qualifications:
• Holder of certificate in dental therapy from a recognized institution
• One-year experience is an added advantage.
2. ASSISTANT DENTAL OFFICER 1-post
Reports to Medical Officer In charge
Job description: diagnose disease, prepare comprehensive treatment plans • prescribe and provide endodontic treatment on adult teeth, carry out oral surgery • carry out periodontal surgery, extract permanent teeth, carry out treatment on patients who are under general anaesthesia, prescribe medicines as part of dental treatment and prescribe and interpret radiographs
Required Qualifications:
• Holder of Diploma or advance Diploma in dental surgery or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• One or more years of experience is an added advantage.
3. RADIOGRAPHER ONE POSITION
Reports to: Medical Officer in-charge
• Radiographer will be part of the medical/surgical team and will be involved in initial patient evaluation and testing, providing diagnostic and evidentiary data for doctors
• Job responsibilities will include;
• Undertake Radiographic and Imaging examinations as required.
• Maintain a high standard of Radiography service to patients and staff in other departments at all times.
• Ensure that Radiation Protection Rules are applied at all times and to be familiar with and obey Ionising Radiations Regulations and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations and observe Departmental local rules and protocols concerning ionising radiation.
• Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures, reporting any deficiencies or malfunction to the medical officer incharge.
• Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging
• Take responsibility for keeping the department in general and specifically the work area, clean, tidy and safe.
• Ensure the policies and procedures of the Trust are applied and adhered to.
Required Qualifications:
• Holder of certificate in Radiography or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• One-year experience is an added advantage.
4. SONOGRAPHER 1-POST
Reports to Medical Officer incharge.
The sonographers must have the ability to explain technical procedures in a simple, clear way to patients who may be nervous about the procedure or its outcome. Sonographer also need sharp attention and good eye sight ensure they can read and interpret images accurately. Undertake Radiographic and Imaging examinations as required, Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures, reporting any deficiencies or malfunction to the medical officer incharge and Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging.
Required Qualifications:
• Holder of certificate or diploma in sonography or Radiography or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• One or more years’ experience is an added advantage.
5. LABORATORY ASSISTANT/TECHNICIAN TWO POSITIONS
Reports to: Medical Officer in-charge
His/her job responsibilities
• Perform laboratory tests to diagnose and monitor Patients health status.
• Manages logistics around lab equipment and supplies within Suna Health Centre laboratory.
• Identify and recommend other diagnostic services needed such as radiographs and biopsy
Required Qualifications:
• Holder of certificate in medical laboratory or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• Must have one year working experience in similar organization
