Zambia Cargo & Logistics Limited (ZCL) is a multi-million dollar international logistics Company operating a regional and global business. The Company recently changed its name to reflect the organization's new mandate and new vision as per recently approved Strategic Plan for the next five years .i.e. 2016 to 2021.
The Company was established in April 2001. ZCL is a wholly owned state enterprise of the Government of the Republic of Zambia, supervised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications based in Lusaka. The Company's current corporate head office and its main operations centre, Mukuba Depot, is located in Kurasini area, in Oar es Salaam, Tanzania next to the dockyard.
ZCL recently incorporated a company in Zambia and current office is based in Ndola.
Hitherto, the Company has been handling mainly mineral cargo, especially copper, but over the years the Company has diversified its revenue base to include agricultural related cargo and other general cargo.
The Company offers a wide ranging freight logistics services including clearing & forwarding, handling, stuffing into containers of cargo or container de-stuff, storage of cargo and transportation of cargo to the port from the depot.
The Company offers also a through services from the port of Dar es Salaam to Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. The Company is a registered Gross Weight Verifier with SUMATRA.

The Stores Controller is responsible for stores management and record keeping of stock.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise storage of all supplies, equipment, furniture and consumable materials.
Supervise stock control function, identification of stored items and materials handling.
Maintain and update proper books of stores
Supervise receipt of all goods and prepare Goods Receipt Note
Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed
Supervise all issuing and dispatch and prepare Goods Issue Note
Supervise stock-taking
Initiate 'all stores purchase requests \keep stock items available at all times.
Supervise, evaluate, and train employees assigned to stores
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that
Are not correctable supervisor.
Participate in budget development and exercise budgetary control over stores operations
Working in other areas of the Procurement department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff to perform duties associated with procurement.
Flexibility and understanding whenever required in performing duties outside normal area of stores to meet the mission and goals of the Procurement Department.
The Stores Supervisor is required to inspect the books and any other deliveries made by various suppliers when delivery is made and report to procurement office for any errors before goods are accepted to stores.
Ensure that rules and regulations relating to physical custody and preservation of stores are followed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE SPECIFICATION TO THE POST

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Five (05) years experience as a stores controller
Team player
Computer literate in word processing, excel, internet and e-mail
Person of high integrity and ethical standards
Relevant degree qualification in Stores management. Bachelor's degree in any commercial field will also be considered
Good command of English and Swahili.
