PHARMACIST 11-1 POST

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill vacant posts listed hereunder for MUHAS Academic Medical Centre (MAMC) at University New Campus of Mloganzilla.

PHARMACIST 11-1 POST 

(a)  Required Qualifications 

Holder of a Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or its equivalent from a recognized institution. In addition, the candidate must have completed one year of internship and is registered by the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Prepares annual medicines and medical devices requirements and its budget. 
2. Orders, stores and dispenses medicines and medical devices. 
3. Keeps records of medicines and medical devices. 
4. Prepares list of medicines and medical devices for the institution use.  
5.   Inspects medicines and Medical devices. 
6. Supervises compounding and dispensing of extemporaneous preparations 
7. Educates public/patients on proper use of medicines
8.  Provides information on reaction resulting from the use of medicines. 
9. Assists physicians, interns, Nursing and patients on medications  
10.   Makes regular reconciliation of medicines dispensed against issues 
11. Makes regular reconciliation of medicines sold against revenue collected 
12. Prepares report on the use of drugs and medical devices in the Institution 
13. Performs any other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned by his/her superior..

5.   Form IV and Form VI result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged academic certificates         and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action.

6.   Applicants currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their             respective employers.

7.  Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.

8.  Certificates from foreign Countries should be verified by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) -       {Degree Level} or National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) - {Diploma Level}     or National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) - {Secondary Education}.
