Our Client is seeking an experienced MANAGER, DATABASE & SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION to manage and oversee Database administration, Database Security and Project Manage in the business/commercial context. The position is based in Dar es Salaam.
EXPERIENCE | EXPOSURE:
DATABASE MANAGEMENT AND DATABASE SECURITY MANAGEMENT: Possess at least 5 years’ experience in database development, administration or management, with a demonstrable interest and competence in the information security aspects, including relevant database security technical qualifications;
BUSINESS ANALYSIS, PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Demonstrated awareness of the broad business/commercial context for database security.
PERFORMANCE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Experience managing infrastructure related projects.
Experience of leading a technical team in the delivery of ICT infrastructure and applications.
Demonstrate practical experience of the management of change.
A proven track record of successful ICT management.
Demonstrable experience of managing/motivating and developing staff.
Must be able to demonstrate commitment to customer service.
Understanding of IT procurement process.
Strong analytical and organisational skills.
Ability to understand business needs.
Knowledge of 'relational database management systems' (RDBMS), 'object oriented database management systems' (OODBMS) and XML database management systems.
Experience with their database software/web applications.
Up-to-date knowledge of banking technology and related markets.

Be constantly updated and knowledgeable on market, sector and technological trends and developments for the coming years.
Propose and/or implement innovative ideas to enhance products, structures and solutions.
Involvement in the implementation of key client service programs.

A. ACADEMICS | EDUCATION
BSc. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
Essential Certification: Oracle Certified or MSDBA, or both.
Essential Certification: ITIL Qualification.
Definite Asset: Project Management qualifications such as Prince2 or PMP would be a definite asset.
Advantage: Masters’ Degree would be an advantage.
B. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
Minimum 5 years of progressive and combined skill experience in experience in database development, administration or management, with a demonstrable interest and competence in the information security aspects, including relevant database security technical qualifications.
Work experience and/or qualifications demonstrating awareness of the broad business/commercial context for database security & management.
Customer/User service driven.
Exposure to developing, observing, promoting and adhering to corporate internal reporting systems, processes and procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English and Kiswahili, with demonstrated ability to get buy-in and influence decisions;
Demonstrated technological competence, including the ability to research, e-networking, understand, capitalize upon and enhance information systems. Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite with advanced Word/Excel skills, and relevant accounting/financial software;
Ability to develop, plan, execute and implement according to corporate and project plan strategies
Flexibility to respond to extended working hours to ensure accessibility and timely response.
