HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) OFFICER
Sustainability Associates is currently looking Volunteers to oversee the implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental plans and programs based upon Tanzania’s laws.
Position: Health, Safety and Environmental Officer (HSEO)
Location/Duty Station: Iringa and Njombe Regions
Reports to: Project Manager (PM)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
(i) To prepare and coordinate Site Specific Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Plan (ESMP),
(ii) To prepare and coordinate implementation of Health and Safety Management Plan (HSMP) by describing measures to be taken to obtain a good OSHA standards at the working site before the start of construction,
(iii) To prepare monthly budget for implementation of the requirement of ESMP and HSMP like purchasing of PPE’s,
(iv) To assist employer in liaising with local Communities and Authorities in matters related to the implementation of construction activities,
(v) To prepare appropriate action related to the implementation of ESMP and HSMP,
(vi) To prepare monthly progressive report on implementation of ESMP and HSMP for inclusion in site meeting reports preparing daily report on Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Activities
QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Functional
• First degree (In Engineering/Environmental, Geography and Environmental Studies – General)
• Computer literacy
• Ability to speak both English and Swahili Languages-Fluent
EXPERIENCE:
At least two or three years of working experience in Road or construction projects in the HSE position.
