Position: Software Engineer
Supervisor: HOD- Software Department
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Consulting and support in Technical areas relating to hardware, software and networking, installation, configuration and troubleshooting all software supplied by the company.
2. Network design, installation and configuration- cabling and networking – WAN and LAN management.
3. Taking part in research and development of the company’s products to ensure that the company supplies products which compete effectively in the market.
4. Carrying out site surveys and submitting the reports to reports relevant personnel for proposal generation or quotation.
5. Accompanying the sales team to site meeting for the purpose of offering technical advice to the customers.
6. Ensuring all facets /modules of the software meets client requirements and are deployed and configured in line with project time scales.
7. Training the users on the operations of the software ensuring they thoroughly understand and are able to use it comfortably.
8. Report to the project manager challenges that may be experienced during training which may result to inability by the users to use the system.
9. Keep the project team updated with daily reports on any assigned actions before end of day.
10. Ensure project sign off is signed by customers and have authority to leave the project site.
11. Support the installation of sites during project roll out for a smooth transition for the clients.
12. Carrying out Quality Assurance procedure to confirm if installations have been done well and users are comfortable with the installations done and documenting the same.
13. Adhering to the stipulated code of conduct when dealing with clients at all times.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant qualification from the recognized Institution.
• Flexible, autonomous and well-organised
• Technical background and an understanding of the electronic industry
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
• The person should have at least two (2) years of working experience.
