Job Duties and Tasks: 
 To set up the Restaurant or Bar as per the Restaurant or Bar standing operating procedures.
 To make sure that all crockery, cutlery and glassware are polished and free of stains\finger marks.
 To ensure that all linen is clean and in a presentable condition.
 To ensure the cleanliness of the Restaurant or Bar before and after every shift.
 To make sure that all line of site areas are kept clean during service.
 To maintain the cleanliness of the wine fridge’s and proper rotation of the wines.
 To ensure the proper operation, maintenance and cleaning procedures of the coffee machines.
 To follow proper procedures regarding to docket.
 Responsible for double checking that guests are charged for everything they consume.
 To ensure guests are correctly charged for everything they consume
 To ensure that once the Restaurant or Bar is open that you are stationed in your section and ready to serve guests.

General duties and responsibilities: 
 To carry out any reasonable additional duties as may be required by your Manager or Head of Department.
 To ensure a high level of liaison and communication is maintained between other departments in the Hotel.
 At all times maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
 To ensure that you’re uniform is clean, ironed and presentable at all times.
 Ensure that your guests receive prompt, friendly and personalized service. Listen and respond to your guests.
KNOW YOUR PRODUCT. Knowledge of the food and beverage we offer makes it easier to
sell our products and provide a service to our guests.
 To provide a friendly greeting to our guests and explain the menu and how it works (supplements).
 Solve our guest’s needs by suggestively selling our food and beverage items. Up selling is
not only good for business, but is an excellent way of putting more money in your pocket.
 Accommodate our guest’s time restrictions through timely service and double checking.
 Take orders using docket use and ensuring that it is correctly billed.
 Act as final check on the quality of food and beverage items before they are served.
 Assist management in maintaining standards by reporting any problems in your surroundings.
 Perform all assigned opening\running\closing duties.
 Assist fellow staff in clearing tables of used plates, glassware etc.
 Assist the bartender by placing drink orders accurately and efficiently.
 Assist the dish staff by stacking plates properly and continuously restocking clean glasses.
 Assist the chefs by writing dockets clearly and in the correct format.
 Deliver all food and beverage in an expedient manner.
 Act as a role model to fellow staff by displaying a high level of professionalism and integrity.
 Always inform a Manager when you are leaving the floor.
 Assist Manager with monthly stock take.
 Assist Manager with controlling stock and stock losses.
 Ability to perform duties which require standing and\or moving through a crowded Restaurant.
 Ability to lift, balance and deliver food and drinks on trays and deliver to tables in a timely manner.
 Ability to perform duties which require efficiency and organizational skills.
 Ability to perform duties, which require bending, kneeling, lifting, reaching and carrying  trays, bins boxes or containers.
 Ability to clearly speak and listen attentively to fellow staff and guests.
 Ability to restock shelves.

Qualification 
 Well trained certificates/Diploma from recognized institutions.
 Working experience of at least 2 years in a reputable restaurant/hotel
 Must be a computer literate with effective communication skills and an excellent command
of written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
